St. Joseph Parish needs Parishioners to fill vacancies in two important Ministries. Eucharistic Ministers participate in daily and weekend Masses. They are Parishioners (who assist the priest in administering the elements of Holy Communion, (the consecrated bread and wine) who assist the Priest in dispensing the Eucharist - both body and blood, (when the latter is instituted in the Diocese), (the previous two phrases - bold and unbold, are two possible versions), and also in providing the Eucharist to the infirm, homebound Parishioners. Lector Ministers are also involved in daily and weekend Masses, and proclaim the readings in the Old and New Testament. Jesus has commissioned his disciples to go and spread his word of salvation: Matthew 28:19-20 “Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations... and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” As part of our own Parish's call to personal Stewardship, your involvement as a Lector is a direct response to Jesus' call to Christian action in Evangelization. Each of these Ministries bring us Spiritually closer in our relationship with Jesus and the Father and enhance our appreciation of who we are as Roman Catholics. The commitment to each of these Ministries is usually one Mass per Month, (weekday participation is once per week). New members to the Ministry are provided orientation prior to their first engagement and ongoing guidance thereafter. If you have any questions or are interested and ready to step forward and commit to one (or both) of these Ministries, please contact myself, or Fr Maiki, through Ms. Barboza, the Parish Secretary.
Please join us in frequent prayer for all of our priests who are working tirelessly to be a follower of Jesus our Most High Priest. Thank you and God Bless.
